06/28/2010 - Wimbledon, England (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Six-time champion Roger Federer and Australian Open runner-up Andy Murray were easy fourth-round winners Monday, while three-time runner-up Andy Roddick was stunned by Taipei's Yen-Hsun Lu at Wimbledon.
The 82nd-ranked Lu ousted the fifth-seeded Roddick 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (5-7), 9-7 on Court 2. He needed 4 hours, 36 minutes to pull off the stunner, which he did by breaking the former U.S. Open champion Roddick in the final game of the bout with a forehand winner.
This was the second-longest match of the fortnight, second only to the John Isner-Nicolas Mahut 11-hour, 5-minute record-setter here last week.
Both Lu and Roddick could manage only one service break apiece in the ultra- tight affair. The American unloaded 38 aces, while Lu settled for 22 en route to the biggest victory of his career.
Roddick, who seemed to be playing from behind throughout on Monday, forced a fifth set by closing out the fourth set with a resounding ace, but he was unable to complete the comeback on Day 7. His loss leaves the men's draw without any remaining Americans.
The 26-year-old Lu is the first Asian man in 15 years to reach a Grand Slam quarterfinal.
He said it is "like a dream" to reach the round of eight here.
The 27-year-old former No. 1 Roddick is a three-time Wimbledon runner-up to Federer, including last year when the Swiss great prevailed in a 30-game fifth set in the finale.
Lu will face Serbian star Novak Djokovic in Wednesday's quarterfinals.
The reigning titlist Federer dismantled French Open semifinalist Jurgen Melzer 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 on Centre Court at the All England Club. The Austrian Melzer was seeded 16th here.
Federer dismissed the lefthanded Melzer in 1 hour, 24 minutes by swatting 11 aces, tallying a mere 11 unforced errors and piling up six service breaks, compared to only one break in only one break-point chance for the overwhelmed Austrian.
"I thought I played great," Federer said. "Aggressive right from the start."
The 28-year-old Federer, who is the top seed here despite being ranked second in the world behind French Open champ Rafael Nadal, will appear in his eighth straight Wimbledon and 25th straight overall Grand Slam quarterfinal.
Federer, who is also the reigning Australian Open titlist, is chasing a record-tying seventh Wimbledon title.
The 16-time major champion Federer now has 203 Grand Slam match wins, which ties him with Pete Sampras for fourth place on the men's all-time list.
Federer's quarterfinal opponent on Wednesday will be 12th-seeded Czech Tomas Berdych, who overcame surprising German Daniel Brands 4-6, 7-6 (7-1), 7-5, 6-3. Berdych beat Federer at the Miami Masters event earlier this season. Federer bested Berdych in the fourth round here at Wimbledon back in 2006.
The fourth-seeded Murray, meanwhile, handled 18th-seeded American Sam Querrey 7-5, 6-3, 6-4. The 23-year-old Murray will appear in his third straight Wimbledon quarterfinal. He lost to Roddick in the semifinals here a year ago.
The 6-foot-6 Querrey was a grass-court champion at The Queen's Club in London three weeks ago.
The two-time major runner-up Murray, who is trying to give Britain its first male Wimbledon champion in 74 years, will encounter flashy Frenchman Jo- Wilfried Tsonga in the round of eight.
Murray has yet to drop a set at this 2010 fortnight.
In other action involving top-10 stars, third-seeded Novak Djokovic dismissed 15th-seeded former champion Lleyton Hewitt 7-5, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 and sixth-seeded French Open runner-up Robin Soderling outlasted ninth-seeded gritty Spaniard David Ferrer 6-2, 5-7, 6-2, 3-6, 6-5. The former world No. 1 Hewitt is a two- time major champion, including a Wimbledon title in 2002. The ever-improving Swedish Soderling has been the runner-up in the last two French Open finals.
A 10th-seeded Tsonga reached his first-ever Wimbledon quarterfinal by besting 32nd-seeded compatriot Julien Benneteau 6-1, 6-4, 3-6, 6-1. Tsonga was the Aussie Open runner-up two years ago.

Big 12 Conference betting odds
Work left to do: Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Kansas State
Texas joins Texas A&M and Kansas as locks after getting league win No. 11. Texas Tech greatly helped its own hopes and crippled OK State's with the two-point win Saturday. Is K-State the last reasonable hopeful? Could be an elimination match in Stillwater on Tuesday, at least for the Cowboys.
Work left to do:
Texas Tech [18-11 (7-7), RPI: 44, SOS: 12] A critical two-point win over OK State leaves the Red Raiders with Baylor and at Iowa State left. Get both and the Red Raiders likely are good to go. Get one and there could be some interesting comparisons with a K-State team that could finish two or three games "ahead" of them in the standings but doesn't have any of the quality wins Texas Tech has. Not a lot in nonconference play (against Arkansas in Little Rock being the best win, by far) to lean on.
Oklahoma State [18-9 (5-8), RPI: 50, SOS: 35] Still without a road win, the Cowboys now need to win two on the road just to get to .500 in conference play. It's hard to recall a team (OK, other than Clemson) falling so precipitously from lock status to almost certainly out of the NCAAs at this point. There are wins to be had in the last three, including a very big home game against K-State on Tuesday, but this team is reeling. Can you tell the pressure to win is getting to them with the way the final possession played out at Texas Tech? There are some good nonconference performances to lean on, specifically beating Missouri State and Syracuse on neutral floors and Pitt in OK City, but if the Pokes don't right this very, very soon, that won't be enough.
Kansas State [20-9 (9-5), RPI: 56, SOS: 96] It pays to be in the Big 12 North. The nine league wins are Colorado (twice), Missouri (twice), Iowa State (twice), Baylor, Nebraska and (a good one against) Texas. That helps explain the middling computer profile. The win over USC is nice, but the nonconference leaves a lot to be desired. The game at OK State in Stillwater on Tuesday is huge, as it could KO the Cowboys and leave K-State with a home date against Oklahoma with which to work.
